Martha Stewart has a template to make your own sewn felt slippers from commercial felt. I would like to make a pair of these with a rubber sole so they can be worn around town.

That is such a great idea. I had seen these a while back and was thinking of making them for guests when they come over to visit.
my mama made these for me and all my siblings for christmas last year, because we mandated that all gifts be handmade. she bought cheap wool sweaters from the goodwill and super-washed them, and used 2 layers of felt for the bottoms so they wouldn't wear through so quickly on hardwood or tile floors.
they are *wonderful*
and super easy, too.
